As one chapter closes, another opens

After nine years of teaching, Erin has said goodbye to the classroom of 20+ kids and hello to her new classroom of 2.  She has been an amazing teacher (and this isn’t just her husband talking) that has been recognized on many levels.  From her principal to students’ parents, her love and care for her students has been noticed by many.  She started in 2001 with a Teacher of the Year award and it has not stopped since.  She received countless praise from fellow faculty and her kid’s parents over the years.  She even had a parent write a letter to the editor of the local paper talking about how great of an impact she provided on their daughter.  Here is an example of just one of those e-mails that she received and the impact she made on this child’s life.

“I have to admit that I didn't come find you to tell you goodbye yesterday after the party because I was afraid I would cry.  You have been a phenomenal teacher this year.  I know my daughter will never forget you, and the impact you made on her life will be felt for many years to come.  You have helped her grow into the spunky, funny and tender young lady that God intends for her to be.”

As you can imagine, I’m delighted to have Erin at home to express all of those great values on our boys that she has been giving to so many others.

Here are some photos from her last few days at school:

And it is officially done.  Don’t forget to turn out the light.

And it is empty, don't forget to turn out the lights

Oh honey! What a loss for your campus, but such a fun move into mommyhood full-time! I know your school will miss you, but your boys will certainly benefit. So proud of you!!!
