We wanted to give a quick update on the boys and thank our parents. Gram, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa have all pitched in and helped with Landon’s feedings as we split time between the two hospitals. It has been tough not being able to be in two places at once, but they have definitely eased our minds.
Hudson – He has been pretty sleepy since the surgery. He woke up last night at 8 p.m. and started back his normal feedings. As of now, he is staying pretty much in a sleepy state, but eating very well. They transitioned his pain meds to Tylenol. He is also on extra iron as his count was low. They told us to look at Friday evening as the first possible time for him to leave…. um, that is tomorrow. And yes, we are nervously excited, but still being realistic as we have been told 24 to 48 hours several times before. Fingers crossed that everything continues to run smooth.
Landon – He is being the troublemaker. We think he was getting a little jealous that his brother started to get more attention. His Brady (drop in heart rate) count is now at 4 over the past 5 days. It is just a reminder that he is young and needs more time. The docs do not want to change anything for now as far as care. They just remind us that his gestational age is still only 37 weeks. They also tell us that if he was a singleton and didn’t have Hudson to compare him to, we wouldn’t even be nervous. We would just be happy that his Brady count had dropped from 7 or 8 a day two weeks ago to now just 1. For the most part, he is doing really good.
