The swallow study went well. Too well actually. Landon decided to be on his best behavior. No issues with gagging or reflux. [note: the test was just one moment in time. Reflux doesn’t happen every feeding.] However, they did see some issues with his ability to push the food down with his tongue when sucking. We are now having to mix simplythick with his food. It should help with the eating and might even do a little good for his reflux. We do this for a couple days and then look into adding a reflux medicine. They only make one change at a time. In case something backfires, they know exactly what to stop.
Haven’t uploaded videos before, so hopefully this works. The first is Landon chilling out in the xray room. They are giving him breast milk mixed with barium.
And this is video of the xray machine showing him actually eating the food. Pretty crazy if you ask me.
And because our troublemaker likes to make us worry. Landon has also developed contact dermatitis, which is basically a rash that has now covered his head and chest. We aren’t really sure what caused it, but we do know there is nothing to treat it. The docs said to give is 3 or 4 days and it should get better.
